Today's post is all about our quick day trip to Philly last Friday. Neither of us have ever been and Keven really wanted to try a real Philly cheesesteak so we made it happen! We had 5hours in the city so you know we ate and saw as much as we could. As you see in all the photos we were all over the city. We started off at this little french bakery called J'aime's Bakery. We had to try their apple tart and pretzel croissant- absolutely delish! A few of the parks we visited were the Rittenhouse Square Park, Love Park, and Franklin Square Park. Their Chinatown and Fashion District was nice as well. Can we talk about their City Hall, oh my god, the architecture was so beautiful! My favorite place was definitely the Reading Terminal Market. It honestly reminded me of the La Boqueria in Barcelona but much smaller.
The Reading Terminal Market had so many different places to eat and shop at. I loved that it had tons of seating for people to sit down and enjoy all the yummy food. They had all different types of cuisine which was cool. Places we tried in the Reading Terminal- Miller's Twist, Hope's Cookies, Bassetts Ice cream and Beiler's Bakery. A lot of the little bakery goods- we bought and took it home to try and they didn't disappoint. I also can't believe the Reading Terminal Market has been around since 1893, crazy! The sun was out and shining but by mid day it got up to 95 and it was sooo humid which made walking a little difficult. We saved the Philly cheesesteak for last and man oh man it was a 10/10. Jim's steak on South Street is a must try!! Keven was definitely a happy man lol Overall Philly was a nice city to visit. The people there were so friendly and we loved seeing how diverse Philly was. The only thing we didn't have time for was to see the Rocky statue/steps but definitely next time. Have you visited Philly?
Have a great week xo
